CMS Setup and Operations
Configure your organization, integrations, access, and maintenance after installation.
A completed installer gives you the first administrator and initial system configuration. Before inviting users, establish the settings and infrastructure your organization will depend on.
Work through the setup checklist
| Step | What to decide | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Public URL and runtime | Final domain, HTTPS, process management, storage root, Redis where required | Configuration and production hosting |
| 2. Organization | Company identity, contact details, locale, currency, and appearance | General Settings and related settings categories in your CMS |
| 3. Communication | Outgoing mail, sender identity, delivery callbacks, and any SMS provider | Integration setup |
| 4. Modules | Purchased entitlement, installation state, dependencies, and configuration | Module planning |
| 5. Staff access | Individual accounts, roles, permissions, and recovery | Access and security |
| 6. Recovery | Database and file backups, off-server copies, and restore ownership | Maintenance and recovery |
| 7. Launch | End-to-end checks with a regular user | Launch checklist |
Configure company settings
Sign in to the CMS administration area and open Settings. Review General Settings for your company name and contact information, then the applicable language, theme, and other system settings. Save changes and verify the public site and administration area display the intended identity.
A company website or contact field is not a replacement for the runtime APP_URL setting. Keep that environment value aligned with the installation's canonical origin.
Establish responsibilities
Name someone responsible for renewals, domain records, application releases, backups, and provider credentials. Hosted customers should confirm which infrastructure duties their plan covers. Self-hosted customers need to monitor both the application and the database.
Keep a deployment record with the release version, application path, public URL, database location, process manager, persistent storage location, enabled modules, and backup destination. Store credentials in a secure system separately from that record.
Find help for daily work
Detailed instructions for users, business records, module workflows, and individual settings live in your CMS's Documentation area at /admin/docs. Use these public guides for installation and system operations, then the installed documentation for day-to-day work.
